UE's Herrera named national youth coach

MANILA, Philippines - Youth Basketball of the Philippines president Nick Jorge has appointed Mark Herrera head coach of its national youth basketball team.

Herrera is currently head coach of the UE Junior Warriors and mentor of five-time Junior PBA champion Batang Talk N Text-Quezon City.

The RP youth team, which will play in the 15-under division of the Singapore invitational on Nov. 10, is composed of JP Rodriguez, Khen Soriano, Dario Diego, Jaime Cabarrus, Juan Garcia, Diego Ridrigo, Allane Barles, Joshua Viajar, Joshua Santos, Josiah Chua, Benz Nacpil, John David Olayres, Mark Marty, skipper Willis Siy and co-captain Jeremiah Vizmonte.

Herrera, who is also head coach of the Maynilad basketball team that won the Ateneo Basketball League Open recently, is assisted by Benjie Diswe, Edwin Ancheta, Wilson Lagaras and Monroe Cueson.
