Seven races on tap in Macau Grand Prix
MANILA, Philippines - Macau will be staging once again an awesome display of precision driving and speed machines when it holds the 58th Macau Grand Prix on Nov. 17-20.
Practice and qualifying sessions will be held Nov. 17-18. Actual races will be on Nov. 19-20.
Speed enthusiasts can look forward to seven races including the Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix, FIA World Touring Car Championship – Guia Race of Macau, Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix, and four support races.
The Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix, the only FIA Formula 3 Intercontinental Cup in the World, is being included this year in the FIA Formula 3 International Trophy. It will be part of the planned six-round debut season.
The 2011 FIA World Touring Car Championship will be held, as in the past, on the Guia Circuit. This will be the seventh successive year that the final races of the season, which will lead to the crowning of the race’s champion, will be held in Macau.
International road racing and endurance riders from across Europe, North America and Asia are participating in the 45th Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix. The event will once again count towards the Duke Road Race Rankings series.
The four support races promise to be just a notch lower in excitement than the main three races. The invitational Macau GT Cup, which draws a full grid of sportscars, is already gaining popularity in Macau, Hong Kong, and across Asia Pacific. Also in the program are the Macau Touring Car Cup, the Macau Road Sport Challenge, and the Macau Hongkong Interport Race.
