MANILA, Philippines - Rizaldy Canare used his experience to rule the premiere 150cc Underbone race while Herbert Lopez bagged the 180cc Scooters Inter/Expert crown in the third Motorcycle Taipei Research Team (MTRT) Club Race at the Pasay Boomland Kart Track recently.
Canare wrapped up the eight-lap race in 4:58.561 seconds, nipping Nino Fabian by just 0.869 seconds. Mark Indiongco finished third overall while Marvin Mangulabnan and Anthony Roman wound up fourth and fifth, respectively.
Lopez, on the other hand, clocked five minutes and 38.741 seconds in topping the scooters inter/expert event, beating Victor Laude by 1.886 seconds.
Masato Fernando checked in third while Dustin Esguerra and Mickey Mazo placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the event presented by Honda Phils. and sponsored by FDR, Racing Boy and AIT.
Other winners in the rain-hit event, sanctioned by the Underbone and Scooter Racing Association (USRA), were Raniel Resuelo, Jeffrey Tria, Joji Ishida, James Mendez and Roel Ruebin.
Resuelo topped the 130cc underbone division over Tracy Soyangco and Anthony Roman, while Ishida prevailed over James Barcial and Romer Cobre to claim the 160cc Scooter crown in the event backed by Yamaha, Kymco, Jad Racing, Motul, Repsol, Motolite, KTM, HGM, SRT, SmartBatt/ Fullspeed, JM Mirasol, Castrol, JP New Tomas, JVT, Spyder, DSF, Gatorade, FDR, Racing Boy, AIT Cebu, Gulf Oil, DBS, 720 Armour. Petron, Imarflex, NGK, and donors Triumph JT Mktg., Deka Trading, Boomland Karting, Maxspeed and EverFoam Industrial Corp. with Motorsiklo Xklusibo, Inside Racing, Stoplight TV, The Racing Line, MCP and Motorista as media partners.
