NCA unwraps 4th derby circuit leg

MANILA, Philippines - The National Cockers Alliance holds the fourth leg of its derby circuit today with competition expected to be keen among the country’s leading breeders and cockers at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Heading the roster in the event, hosted by Patrick Antonio, Eric dela Rosa, Elmer Nepomuceno, Danny Soriano and Magno Lim and promoted by Sagupaan Complexor, are Gov. Ito Ynares, the Firefly Group, Claude Bautista, George Torres, Bebot Roxas, Rudy Albano, Jimmy Ang, Efren Canlas, Rudy and Jun Jingco.

Others in the fold are Jet Fernando, Mario Villamor, Manny and Armand Santos, Ruel Ricafort, Homer Mercado, Gerry Ramos, Atong Ang, Ellan Nagano, Boyet Joson, Tommy Chua, Osang dela Cruz and Jun Mendoza.

Meanwhile, Claude Bautista’s CPB JT Firefly Binangonan AAO scored 5 1/2 points to emerge the solo champion in the third leg of the NCA Stag Derby last Sept. 27.

Ian Gatmaitan’s LYG and the EB Poracuenos of Daboy and Ferdinand shared runner-up honors with five points.

Rudy Jingco, Jet Fernando, and A. Mendoza’s Jimafer GLE-CLE and the JM Fantastic Era of Jun Mendoza finished with 4 1/2 points apiece.

The LDB Sports Arena & Pugo Combine of Ka Luding and Rey Soberano, the Binangonan of Gov. Ito Ynares, the Super Natural & 1925 of Albert Gonzaga, the AAO AA of Atong Ang, the San Leo of Mayor Ellan Nagano, and Osang de la Cruz’s Goldquest Champions wound up with four points each.
