DLSU, FEU spikers top Open rivals

MANILA, Philippines - De La Salle University and Far Eastern University hurdled their respective rivals in contrasting fashions in the opener of the National Open Volleyball Championships at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium yesterday.

La Salle, the many-time UAAP champions, swept Holy Angel University, 25-12, 25-15, 25-11, while FEU outlasted National U in five sets, 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 20-25, 15-7, in the women’s side of the week-long tournament organized by Philippine Volleyball Federation.

In the men’s side, Agot whipped Holy Angel University, 25-10, 25-7, 25-12, in the event backed by the Philippine Olympic Committee, Summit Water, Sonak Trading, Waste Management, Shakey’s and Sen. Francis Pangilinan.
