Public school tankers, DPS shine in Nacrasa

MANILA, Philippines - Two public school swimmers – nine-year-old Khiel Libat of TM Kalaw Memorial Public School in Lipa, and 11-year-old Maria Siso of Isaias Tapales Elementary School, made waves in the 14th leg of the Philippine Swimming League yesterday at the Rizal Memorial swimming pool.

Libat, of the Lipa Mediatrix Swim Club, won in the   200m individual medley, 100m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle of the event hosted by the newly organized National Capital Region Swimming Association (Nacrasa).

 Siso, of Bosay Swim Club, won the gold medal in the 200m IM, 200 free, 100 fly, 100 back and 50 free.

The newly formed Diliman Preparatory School tankers of founder, former Sen. Nikki Coseteng, was the over-all champion in both boys and girls categories.

 Other most outstanding swimmers (girls) were  Hanna Victorino, Dominique Ramirez, Shania Mae Maquinta, Sam Andrei Doragos, Czaree Cassidy Pospia, Portia Kate Doragos, Nicole Tan, Paula Cayanan,  B-Anne Rojo, Pricilla Aquino, Delia Angela Cordero, Ara Abacahin, Dennice Cordero, and Clara Marie Del Rio.

Most outstanding swimmers (boys) were Vaughn Andre Aquino, Charles Emmanuel Ticbaen, Geoffrey James Liberato, Sean Terence Zamora, Stephen John De Jesus, Lans Donato, Skyler Claveria, Alfred Maglabe, Kevin Claveria, JR Lou Gearlan, Kiefer Piccio, and Ajirulla Jaitulla.

 PSL president Susan Papa announced the next competition would be held Oct. 30 at De La Salle,  Dasmariñas, with the Cavite Sailfish under coach Edwin Valdez as hosts.
