MANILA, Philippines - CATS Motors and San Miguel Corp. have renewed their support to the Highlands Ladies Cup as chief backers of the sixth staging of the event firing off Oct. 23 at Tagaytay Midlands Golf and Country Club in Tagaytay.
CATS Motors, the exclusive distributor of Mercedes-Benz in the country, is coming in as the event’s Platinum sponsor while SMC, the region’s leading food conglomerate, is back as Gold sponsor together with W Fifth Ave. Bldg.
The event is expected to lure a maximum field of 150, headed by the top lady golfers from the country’s leading clubs and their guests from the government and private sectors. The 18-hole tournament, to be played under the System 36 format, will have a shotgun start.
Hitting the ceremonial drive are CATS Motors president Felix Ang, Belle Corp. vice president Willie Ocier, SM Retail president Jorge Mendiola, Inquirer chair Marixi Prieto and Sandy Romualdez, team captain of Tagaytay Highlands ladies team.
Other backers of the tournament, organized by the Tagaytay Highlands Ladies Chapter, are Silver sponsors SM Retail, Bingo Bonanza Corp., ComWorks, Inc. and Philippine Airlines, which stakes two round-trip tickets to India.
Focus Global-SieMatic and Miele German Kitchen head the Bronze sponsors that include Regent Travel, Kaiser Health Insurance, Air Philippine Express and Coca-Cola Bottlers Phils. while SM Hotels and Convention Center and Orocan are the other supporters of the event.
Fabulous prizes will be up for grabs in the various categories of the tournament, won by Eva Miñoza (Class A) and Baby Lagura (Class B) last year.
Low gross winner Gilbert Villanueva and low net champion Sammy Sy are also tipped to defend their respective crowns along with men’s division winners Bayani Tan (Class A), Severo Leagogo (Class B) and Jose dela Rama (Class C).
