MANILA, Philippines - Around 2,000 riders are expected to see action in the first Philippine Bike Adventure Race set next month at the Clark Freeport Zone.
Competitions in downhill, cross country, and bike adventure race will be held during the Oct. 29 event, which organizer Hasslefree Philippines boasts as one of the year’s major outdoor sporting event.
“It’s a one-day festival of bikes,” said Hasslefree Philippines marketing director Jon Ramos in the PSA Forum Tuesday at Shakey’s UN Ave.
At stake in the bike adventure race is a grand prize of P50,000 to the champion, P30,000 to the runner-up and P20,000 for third place.
“The bike adventure race is like an amazing race on bikes. It’s a combination of both physical and mental tests,” said Hasslefree Philippine managing director Marc Ramos in the same forum presented by Smart, Pagcor, Shakey’s and Outlast Battery.
Meanwhile, both downhill and cross country offers the same prize of P20,000 (champion), P10,000 (runner-up) and P5,000 (third place).
Organizers of the one-day bikefest also said the tournament is also a perfect way for national team members of the mountain bike team to warm up for the coming 26th Southeast Asian Games in Indonesia.
The event is being held in cooperation and support of the Clark Development Corporation through its president and CEO Atty. Felipe Antonio Remollo.
