MANILA, Philippines - A two-day chess arbitration seminar will be held Sept. 17-18 at the Ramon Magsaysay (Cubao) High School in Cubao, Quezon City.
The seminar, organized by the Ramon Magsaysay Alumni Chess Club, Inc. in cooperation with the Chess Arbiters Association of the Phils. (CAAP) and accredited by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP), is open to all teachers, coaches, trainers, amateurs, professionals and individuals who want to learn the fundamentals of officiating and arbitration in chess.
International arbiters Gene Poliarco and Erwin Carag are the primary lecturers and facilitators of the seminar, which will tackle FIDE laws of chess, role of the arbiter, Swiss pairing system, rating system, and rules of the chess 960 (Fischer Random Chess).
Registration fee is P1,500 inclusive of Fide Laws manuals, material handouts certificates and snacks.
Seminar proper will start at 8 a.m. and limited only to 20 participants.
