MANILA, Philippines - Maynilad thumped Dasmariñas, 95-78, yesterday to advance to the championship in the senior A division of the ABL Championships at the North Greenhills gym.
PJ Barua scored 20 points, JR Taganas tossed in 18 points while Jek Castillo had 15 and Von Lanete 10 as they provided the firepower in the absence of key players Cholo Villanueva and Ric Afable.
“The boys have greatly improved and certainly need this title to boost their confidence for bigger tournaments,” said Mark Herrera of his boys who are in the finals for the second time after the MVP Cup.
Maynilad, supported by its president Ricky Vargas, will be up against a team backed up by former PBA player Kevin Daroya, Bernson Franco, Jam Alfad and new PBA draft pick Brian Ilad.
