TRS riders seek big win

-

MANILA, Philippines - Ford Focus-Tuason Racing School (TRS) hopes to bounce back as Alvin Ng and Sean Redpath gun for crucial victories today in the fifth leg of the 2011 Philippine GT Championship Series at the Clark International Speedway.

The two needed the win to bolster their bid for the GT130 crown for Ford-TRS powered by Castrol, Bridgestone, Ford, OMP, Oakley, Coke Zero, Discovery Suites, Toptul, Speedlab, C! Magazine, Rota, Starbright Bodykits, Dupont, Ultraracing, Aguila Autoglass, Hafele, Gopro, Vwrap and Belo Men.

The team suffered a setback in the last leg as the two yielded to Dean Joson who now takes the lead in the GT130 class with 90 points.

Redpath, who finished second in both the Sprint and Main GT race, is second overall just five points behind Joson while Ng, who ended fourth in both races, slipped down to third overall with 83 points.

All the team needs is a 1-2 finish to forge an exciting showdown for the GT130 plum in the championship round.

“The team is in the thick of the fight. Sean (Redpath) is seeking a back-to-back crown while Alvin (Ng) is also eyeing his first career car racing title. We’ll do our best to stay within title range and hopefully this leg will be a trouble-free run for the team,” said team manager Mike Tuason.
