Phl golfers fall behind by 10
MANILA, Philippines - Tony Lascuña and Mars Pucay continued to grope for form and fumbled with a two-over 73, falling farther back by 10 shots behind Singapore halfway through the World Cup qualifier at the Seri Selangor Golf Club in Malaysia yesterday.
Lascuña and Pucay, who combined for a 70 in the four-ball (better ball) competition Wednesday, made a 39-34 card for a 143 for solo seventh.
Singapore’s Mardan Mamat and Lam Chih Bing shot a 70 and posted a three-shot lead over India with a 133. India made a 69 for a 136 while South Korea stood at 139 after a 69.
New Zealand, which had a 65 in the first round, wavered with a 75 and dropped to joint third with Sri Lanka, shooting a 70, at 140 while Malaysia skied to a 77 for a 141.
