Eight URCC fights highlight Davao's 'Kadayawan'

-

MANILA, Philippines - Davao City’s Kadayawan Festival will be highlighted by the staging of the Universal Reality Combat Championship-Colt 45 Digmaan III on Aug. 21 at the Grand Oases Convention Center.

The eight-fight event will feature the URCC lightweight championship between top local bet Angelito “Saint” Manguray and reigning titlist Honorio “Rock” Banario.

Manguray, a dentist by profession, is out to get back at Banario, who beat him for the crown last year in the tournament presented by Colt 45 and backed by PCSO.

“I’m sure Angel will do everything to win this fight since he does not want to frustrate his provincemates who are going to root for him,” said URCC president and founder Alvin Aguilar.

Benjie Lumacad and Isaac Tuling, meanwhile, will clash for the URCC Mindanao bantamweight title.

A boxer-turned MMA fighter, Lumacad won a thrilling three-round match against Jilmar “Stone Cold” Tangayan in the first Davao Digmaan. He holds a 2-0 record while Tuling has a 2-1 mark after losing to URCC flyweight champion Kevin “Silencer” Belingon in URCC XIX.

For tickets reservations, contact 0923-7124272 or log on at www.urccmma.com.

The event is backed by Solar Sports, Pinoy Extreme, TFC Bro and Amp TV 46 (Socsargen) as media partners with Frenzy Condom, Chris Sports and Bulls Gloves as the other sponsors.

Other matches pit Eric Malusay against Flash Val Casas (pinweight), Daniel Solis against Michael Cesumision (bantam), Jun del Valle against Glen Balaba (bantam), Marlon Perocho against Orlemer Celeste (feather), Armando Cole against Eduard Monteza (feather) and Lorde Yamit against Ricardo Sapno (feather).
