MANILA, Philippines - AgriNurture, Inc. (ANI), a leading food exporter and distributor of fresh and processed vegetables and fruits, has signed an agreement with the Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines (FESSAP) for the sponsorship of the country’s sports delegation that will compete at the 26th Summer Universiade 2011 scheduled on Aug. 13-23 at Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China.
Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). More than 13,000 athletes, coaches and officials from 188 countries are expected to join this year including the 40 athletes gathered by FESSAP to represent the Philippines. The Philippines will compete in eight sports events – athletics, archery, badminton, basketball (men), beach volleyball, chess, table tennis, and swimming.
FESSAP is officially recognized by the International University Sports Federation and is the sole governing body that is allowed to organize nationwide university sports championships in the Philippines and represent the Philippines to World University Championships and other international competitions.
ANI’s sponsorship of the FESSAP is consistent with initiatives under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program that supports youth-centered activities. With the Universiade, both companies hope that the Philippine delegation will not only bring home the medals but more importantly, they learn the values of honesty, camaraderie, and team spirit.
AgriNurture, Inc. (ANI) is now present in China and has partnership with the BeidaHuang Group of Companies.
The contract-signing was held last July 7 at the Century Ballroom of the Century Park Sheraton Manila. Present during the contract-signing were ANI’s CEO Antonio Tiu and COO Dennis Sia, FESSAP’s president David Ong and VP Christian Tan and BeidaHuang chairman Zhao Shengxue.
