ADMU Blue Eagles VS UE Red Warriors

-

Ateneo kept its unblemished record with a 73-61 whipping of University of the East in the UAAP Season 74 men’s basketball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Blue Eagles started flat but picked up their game in the final half and chalked up a fourth win in a row.

“We actually struggled in the entire game. It was a difficult game for us. We got inside towards the end as our shooters didn’t shoot well. Our shots just won’t fall,” said Ateneo coach Norman Black.

“They did well on their man-to-man defense and they deserved credit for that,” Black added.

The Eagles went to Greg Slaughter in the second half with the seven-foot center responding well and finishing with a solid double-double game with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Rookie Kiefer Ravena added 13 points, including a breakaway slam making it 71-53 with less than two minutes left to play.

With that cushion, coach Black tapped in his reserves to finish the game. – Nelson Beltran
