Import shines in farewell B-Meg game

Manila, Philippines - Darnell Hinson made good his promise of dishing out his best before bidding B-Meg goodbye.

Hinson churned out 31 points with 4-of-8 three-point shooting in his farewell game with B-Meg, leading the Llamados to a 111-89 conquest of the Air21 Express and paving the way for their entry to the PBA Governors Cup semifinals at the Araneta Coliseum last night.

The former Northeastern State U hit man packed his bags after the game, needing to rush home in the United States to attend a child custody hearing.

He left with the Llamados safe in the semis.

B-Meg clinched the sixth and last slot in the next round as it closed out its elims stint with an even 4-4 win-loss card. The Llamados went 2-2 with Hinson.

Myron Allen, from North Dakota U who had stints with the Arkansas ArchAngels in the WBA, the Fresno Heat Wave in the ABA and the Arkansas RimRockers in the NBA D-League, is taking over from Hinson.

Though Meralco and Powerade can also finish 4-4, they are out due to inferior quotients.

The Llamados played with a great sense of urgency and dominated the Express who reeled with a seventh straight defeat.

Hinson spearheaded a B-Meg breakaway in the second quarter, and the Llamados roared on in the final half, leading by as many as 24 in the final period.

Meanwhile, Barangay Ginebra finally welcomes a new import in Donald Sloan as the Kings meet the Alaska Milk Aces in a duel of surging teams at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Big Dome.

The Kings, who went on a two-game run despite playing without a reinforcement, should only get better as they set out against the Aces with Sloan in tow.

Sloan, taking over from the injury-hit Curtis Stinson, helped Texas A&M reach the US NCAA tourney in all his four years with the reputable school, earning First Team All-Big 12 honors in 2010.

Both the Kings and the Aces are eyeing their fifth wins.
