Freego backs Adamson cage squads
Manila, Philippines - Adamson coach Leo Austria knows only too well that the battle for supremacy in this year’s UAAP is tougher and more intense than the last year.
But he remains confident the Falcons have what it takes to challenge the favorites – Ateneo, Far Eastern University and La Salle – for the crown – thanks to the continued support of Freego Jeans and Adamson officials.
“The entire Adamson community is fully behind us this year and so are the owners of Freego Jeans. They have been supportive to us in our drive to win the UAAP crown,” said Austria, out to improve on their semifinals finish last year.
When Freego Jeans joined the D-League of the PBA last summer, the management, headed by Nelson Chan and team coordinator Joel Yap, decided to get the players of Adamson as part of their preparation for the UAAP. They lost to eventual champion Ateneo in the Final Four.
Though Freego Jeans made it only to the quarterfinal round, the Adamson players gained enough experience which Austria believes will serve them in good stead for the coming UAAP tournament.
Freego is also backing the women’s team of Adamson as well as its junior squad.
