MANILA, Philippines - Wesley So drew with eventual champion Fabiano Caruana of Italy after 30 moves of the Catalan Opening and finished fourth among six players in the play-all double-round robin AAI (Airports Authority of India) Grandmasters Chess Tournament in New Delhi Saturday.
“I wish I could have played better. Maybe next time,” said So, who is scheduled to play in the 2011 Battle of the Grandmasters in Manila from July 16-23. Caruana, on the other hand, finished 7 points and went home with the top prize of $8,000.
