MANILA, Philippines - The Architects Golf Club holds its monthly tournament on Monday with 136 members clashing for top honors in various divisions at Sun Valley Golf Club in Antipolo.
The shotgun tee-off will start at 7:30 a.m. with big prizes at stake in the stroke play tournament backed by Boysen Paints as major sponsor. Other supporters of the event are Emerald JME Supreme International, Koten, Megacem, Inc.-Holcim, Columbia Wires & Cables, Easy Pha-Max Phils., Inc., Firefly Electric & Lighting, International Elevator & Equipment, Inc., Republic Chemical Industries and SteelTech.
Also on tap is the second quarter awarding rites with Juanito Chua and Jackneil So leading the winners of the recent AGC tournament at Camp John Hay in Baguio.
Meanwhile, Wallguard and Virtuoso shared the lead with 52 points in the Boysen Cup with Konstruct in third with 51 followed by Prime Guard (37), Knoxout (33), Acrytex (31), Elastikote (28), Healthy Home (25) and Marmorino (18) in that order.
Chua shot a gross 69 for a net 63 to cop the Group I title with Jonathan Salcedo settling for second with a net 65 from a gross 77. Ruel de Castro placed third with a net 66 from a gross 80.
So, on the other hand, scored a gross 79 for a net 60 and took the Group I plum. Neil Magkilat made an 83 for a net 63 for second while Wilfredo Cruz had a net 64 from a gross 84 for third.
Roy Cordero won the Group III crown with a gross 86 and a net 60, making a par on the final hole to nip Stephen Sy, who also had a net 60 from a gross 86, in the countback. Michael Tomelda wound up third with a 90 for a net 61.
Malou Doles captured the Group IV title with a 61 from a gross 95 with Elmer Cabrera finishing second with a 96 and a net 64, edging Albert Uy, who also had a net 64 from a gross 96, in the countback.
Jaime Ebreo pocketed the seniors crown with an 88 for a net 60, nipping Manny Vergara, who had a gross 90 for a net 60, in the countback with a bogey on No. 18. Ramon Ajero took third place with a net 63 from a gross 95.
