Phl chessers sustain pace

MANILA, Philippines -  Asian Youth silver medalist Samantha Glo Revita and Marie Antoinette San Diego scored victories to remain on top of their division in the second round of the ASEAN +age-group chess championships in Tarakan, Indonesia yesterday.

Revita pulled the rug from under second seed Nguyen Thi Minh of Vietnam, while San Diego toppled sixth seed Sabrina Asman of Malaysia to share the lead with No. 7 Vindy Chandra of Indonesia in the girls’ 12 years old and under category.

Daryl Unix Samantila also made it two in a row in the boys 12 under, beating Neovand Eliezer of Indonesia.
