MANILA, Philippines - Taguig overcame a listless start and a hostile crowd to beat Antipolo, 83-77, at the Ynares Center last Wednesday and arrange a title showdown with unbeaten Quezon City in the second Coca-Cola Hoopla National Capital Region Championship.
Game One of the best-of-3 series is set at 7 tonight at the Hagonoy Gym in Taguig. Antipolo and Caloocan dispute third place at 5:30 p.m.
It was a big win for Taguig, which pulled off an 84-80 victory three days ago to force the sudden death.
Quezon City routed Taguig, 109-71, last week when they last clashed in the five-team Inter-Zonal phase.
Joshua Morris Mayor dished out a superb all-around performance, including a 27-point output to power Taguig to the victory.
“I told them to put their hearts into the game and not be distracted by the crowd,” said Taguig coach Mixson Ramos.
