MANILA, Philippines - Some 500 Filipino and foreign darters are expected to participate in the forthcoming Congressman Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao P1 million Philippine Cup and Open Singles Darts Championships to be held at the Clam Shell 1 of the Department of Tourism in Intramuros, Manila on June 10-12.
Andrew Arrieta, president of the Darts Council of the Philippines Inc., said Pacquiao has agreed to sponsor the event that will be held under the auspices of the World Darts Federation based in London, England. Arrieta is the current executive director for administration and finance services of the Philippine Senate.
Pacquiao, Arrieta said, was recently elected chairman of the board of the Darts Council of the Philippines Inc. and donated the cash prizes amounting to P1 million.
Foreign players from member countries of the World Darts Federation such as Germany, the United States, England, The Netherlands, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, India and Iran are expected to compete in various events with local darts enthusiasts.
