MANILA, Philippines - Ten-year-old Sean Terence Zamora emerged the most bemedalled swimmer, winning all his events in the 9-10 class of the Diliman Preparatory School-Philippine Swimming League monthly leg which drew over 300 participants at the Lipa City swimming pool yesterday.
Zamora took the gold in the 50m events of the freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly and backstroke.
Skyler Claveria dominated the 11-12 category, also ruling all his events in the 50m free, back, breast and butterfly
Joshua Ching, 15, of St. Jude, reigned in the 15-17 category, while 18-year-old Ajirulla Jaitulla, son of former Olympian Jairulla Jaitulla, outraced all his opponents in the open category.
In the girls division, Bicol star Trisha Oliveros emerged most outstanding in the 11-12 section.
“It’s a great feeling seeing these young swimmers compete all-out, and race up till the finish line,” said PSL president Susan Papa. “We get all our strength from God Almighty and we thank DPS president Nikki Coseteng, who unrelentlessly gives support to the swimming community.”
The girls division winners were Hazel Tan (6-under), Krisha Catelo (7-8), Kara Colaste (9-10), Trisha Oliveros (11-12), Nicole Tan (13-14), Delia Angela Cordero (15-17), and Denjylie Cordero (18-above).
Other boys winners were Vaugn Aquino (6-under), Charles Ticbaen (7-8) and Christian Dimaculangan (13-14).
