MANILA, Philippines - The Bill Shaw Classic tournament unfolds today with a maximum field of 288 featuring members and their guests vying for top honors in various divisions at Wack Wack’s West and East courses.
A Dodge Nitro (No. 8 – East) and a Mercedes- Benz C180 Classic from Cats Motors are at stake as hole-in-one prizes while Mitsubishi Motors is putting up a Lancer EX-GLX for ace on No. 16 of the East course. Auto Hub also offers a Fiesta, 1.4 Sedan on No. 8 of the West layout.
The 22nd staging of the annual event, a 36-hole member-guest team tournament spread over three days, traditionally kicks off a series of championships at the exclusive club held in honor of its founder Bill Shaw.
Presented by PLDT/Smart, the Bill Shaw Classic has long been considered among the most prestigious events in the country where each team plays the best-ball format on the first day and aggregate on the second round.
The event’s premier sponsors are Madrigal Bayot, San Miguel Corp., Pacific Links Golf Development Corp, Unilever, Asia Brewery, China Airlines and EVA Air, Stradcom Corporation and G & W Club Shares with Toyota Forklift, GG & A Clubshares, Tsukiden, Rebisco, Zest-O Corporation, ArthaLand, Ortigas & Co, AlphaLand, Ayala Land, and Motolite as the other backers.
