Rapid chessfest slated

MANILA, Philippines - Basham Sports and Games Shop will hold a one-day rapid chess festival on May 29 at the 3/F, Food Court, Alphaland Southgate Mall, Chino Roces Ave., Ext., Makati City.

The tournament will feature the Open non-master, all women and kiddies 14-under events with Open winner receiving P5,000 plus trophy.

Also up for grabs are category prizes in the 50 year-olds-and-above, top 18 year-olds-and-below and top unrated.

The women’s and kiddies champions will get P2,500 plus trophy each.

Registration is ongoing with fee pegged at P250 for non-master, P200 for women and P150 for kiddies divisions. On-site registration will have to pay an additional P50 in all divisions.
