Ralph Napa and Rash Rivero each had 13 points for the Bullpups but it was the all-around game of Harvey Subrabas that helped NU to come up with an easy win in the annual highschool caging also supported by Talk ‘N Text.
Subrabas netted 12 markers and dished out seven assists to bag the Freego Player of the Game award.
Cristian Garcia led all scorers with 17 points to lead the Altas, who dropped to 2-2 in the tournament, which also has the backing of Powerbest Mktg Inc., Colt Commercial, Oceanic Container Lines Inc., Old Chinatown Kopitiam, Mandarin Sky Seafood Shabu-Shabu Restaurant, Jumbo Plastic Linoleum, Fresh Gear, Apple Tape and Happe Toothpaste.
Defending champion San Beda remained unbeaten in Group A after demolishing University of Santo Tomas, 91-47, to stay on top with 4-0 slate.
Francis Abarcan led the Red Cubs’ balanced attack with 13 points while Pado Florentino was a one-man show for the Tiger Cubs with 27 markers. UST fell to 1-4.
Meanwhile, Hope Christian High School (HCHS) shocked Letran College, 96-80, to claim the No. 2 spot in Group B with 4-1 slate. Errol Villar paced HCHS with 19 points while Mejor Luib led the Squires with a game-high 30 points. Letran slipped to 1-3.
Adamson also pulled off an 80-65 upset over Ateneo in another Group B battle. The Baby Falcons improved their mark to 2-3 while the Blue Eaglets dropped to 1-3.
