DPS, PSL hold swim meet in Lipa

MANILA, Philippines - The Lipa City Mediatrix Swim Club is hosting the May leg of the Philippine Swimming League-Diliman Preparatory School age group swim series on May 29 at the Lipa City Community Park swimming pool.

The national age group championship, hosted by coaches Grace and Emil Amago of the Mediatrix Swim Club, is organized by the DPS under former Sen. Nikki Coseteng and the PSL under president Susan Papa.

It will be held in six age categories – six years and under 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 for boys and girls.

During the competition, the Aquatic Sports Association of the Philippines, an affiliate of the PSL and DPS and headed by prominent lawyer Ma. Luz Arzaga-Mendoza, will also hold its regular meeting and seminar.

The clubs represented are from Manila, Pampanga, Batangas, Dagupan, Pangasinan, Malabon, Novaliches, Quezon City, Marikina, Antipolo, Pasay, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, Parañaque and Bicol.

“We have set up competitions monthly to develop grassroots swimmers into competitive level and eventually make them elite athletes in the future,” said Papa, who said the PSL has also scheduled international competitions this summer.
