Huey, partner claim doubles
MANILA, Philippines - Treat Huey of the Philippines kept it going with his Indian partner Puray Raja when they bagged the doubles title in the recent Cremona Challenger in Italy.
The 26-year-old Huey, who lends his hand to the Philippine team in international tournaments like the Davis Cup, perfectly teamed with his favorite partner.
Huey and Raja scored a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Tomasz Bednarek and Mateusz Kowalczyk. They made it look so easy ranged against their unseeded rivals from Poland.
It was the same result for Huey and his partner following their victory in the Toyota Challenger in Japan last November when they defeated home boys Tasuku Iwami and Hiroki Kondo.
Huey is looking forward to two tournaments with the Philippine team, the Davis Cup tie against New Zealand in July and the 26th SEA Games in Indonesia in November.
More than the title, Huey improved his ranking in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), where he moved up to 97th.
