Manila, Philippines - Mar Naval fired a net 68 to post a three-shot victory over Brian Park in the Manila Southwoods seniors trimester birthday bash golf tournament at Southwoods’ Masters course in Carmona, Cavite last Wednesday.

Naval, a 12-handicapper, strung up nines of 39-41 for a gross 80 at the hazard-laden layout for that 68 as he claimed the top honors in the 18-hole tournament put up by the Manila Southwoods seniors chapter, headed by president Jose Cedo and vice president Paco Gonzalez, for the third straight year to honor senior members whose birthdays fall on every trimester of the year.

Park, a single handicapper (5), carded nines of 38-38 for a 76 and a net 71 in the tournament which featured senior chapter members and guests and backed by hole-in-one sponsors Yamaha by Kart Plaza and Wilson and supported by annual event presentors Anako Phils., Fumaco, Inc., Romago, Inc., Asia Pacific Golf Corp. and Vantage Point.

Jojo Lee, an 18-handicapper, shot a net 63 from a gross 81 then nipped Cesar Peralejo (23), who had a gross 86, in the countback to snatch the Class B crown in the event also supported by annual hole sponsors Red Eagle Lending Investors, Inc., Warbird Security, Rudy Project Phils., Philips Altus Communications and Tocoms Phils. Inc. and hole sponsors CG Airconditioning and Camp John Hay Golf Club.

Emmanuel Barcelon, with a handicap of 31, likewise pulled off a close win in Class C over Chris Gonzales, whom he nipped in the countback after both players turned in net 71s. Barcelon had a gross 102 while Gonzales made a 107.
