Fern-C racing soars high in lateral drifting
Manila, Philippines - Fern-C Racing created another big impression with its strong campaign in the Lateral Drifting Championship behind its top caliber drivers Audel Sison, Pao Agregado, Rey Panaligan and Jay Lao.
Sison flaunted his mastery with his consistent performance that installed him the points leader after three rounds of the event with the big support of Nankang Tires, Autocraft and Jeverps Manufacturing Corp.
Sison bagged the runner-up trophy in Round 1 at the Clark International Speedway where he slipped past tough rivals on his way to the finals just before he yielded to Gio Rodriguez.
In Round 2 also at Clark, Sison showed a more aggressive fight as he upstaged defending champion Alex Perez in the semifinals and later prevailed over Jason Chuachoy to capture his first major win of the season.
Being the main target with his prolific performance in the first two rounds, Sison figured in a collision in the round of 16 but the incident with Gio Rodriguez badly damaged his car. The two went in fast at the first clipping point when the collision occurred, causing Sison’s rack end to bend.
Rodriguez was eliminated, as Sison managed to get his car back together. However, the handling was affected that Sison saw the end of the line losing to Raymond Ronquillo.
Pao Agregado, who went as far as the top 16 in Round 1, carried on the fight for FERN-C but lost to former champ Ryan Agoncillo in the semifinals.
Jay Lao got his share of the limelight when he made it into the Top 8 before losing to Perez while Panaligan, a consistent crowd drawer, went as far as the Top 16 before giving in to Ralph Tan.
“FERN-C invaded new horizons in the field of Philippine Motorsports and its formidable line-up proved bright title prospects for the team though only on its second year in the field of drifting,” said FERN-C President Tom Tan.
