Luis Miguel Velasco, Carlos Gatmaitan and Gian Mamuyac combined for 34 points in the first quarter as the Batang Bolts opened a big 42-6 advantage on the way to their second straight win in Group B.
The Batang Meralco Bolts-QC, which clobbered Talk N Text-Taytay, 77-45, on opening day, took over from four-time champion Talk N Text-QC also coached by Mark Herrera.
Barangay Ginebra-Caloocan also got off to strong start and dismantled Barako Bull-San Pedro, 65-29, in Group A.
Jan Cyril Narvasa scored 12 of his team-high 14 points in the opening period and Pierre Laswrence dela Cruz added 10 as Batang Kings roared to a 30-1 advantage after one quarter to bounce back from Saturday’s 41-46 loss against Powerade-Cainta. The Batang Energy Boosters picked up their second straight loss in Group A.
On Tuesday, John Mark Lagumen scored 17 points and Aveen Hermandas added 16 as Rain or Shine San Juan defeated Powerade-Cainta, 58-54, for its second straight win in Group A while Luke Sese poured in 14 points and Sidney Mosqueda had 12 to power Talk N’ Text-Taytay (1-1) to a 44-25 romp over Air21-Las Piñas (1-1) in Group B.
