MMC, Universidad buck gutsy rivals

MANILA, Philippines - Metro Manila College and Universidad De Manila hacked out similar hard-earned victories kicking off the SM/RCBC Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim Summer Mini-Olympics basketball tournament at the San Andres Sports Complex in Malate, Manila.

Frankie Flores scored 21 points and Ryan Revilla added 18 for MMC, which outplayed FEATI University, 91-81, in the first game of the tournament organized by Fusion Advertising and Manila Inter-Commercial Athletic Association in cooperation with the Manila Sports Council, headed by Paul Edward Almario and supported by SM Supermalls, RCBC, Summit Mineral Water, 100 Plus, Cobra Energy Drink, Petron, SGV Foundation, ICTSI, Inc., Manila Bulletin and The Philippine Star.

Eduard Remolacio drilled in 29 points and John Micahel Rablo added 15 for FEATI.

Universidad De Manila, on the other hand, drew 23 points each from Jaycee De Garnica and Camelo Arambana to turn back Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa, 102-99.
