Pacific Pipes bounces back, thwarts Pharex
MANILA, Philippines - Rnw Pacific Pipes snapped a four-game losing skid by stunning Pharex, 75-59, yesterday to finish with a 2-4 card at the close of its classification round campaign in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Marikina Sports Center.
Pacific Pipes dominated the boards and shackled Pharex with its pressing defense with Vic Manuel leading the attack with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Generix took their third straight defeat after sweeping their first two games.
Raymund Ilagan scored 14 points and Anthony del Rio added 10 points for Pacific Pipes, which made 21 turnovers but held Pharex to 30 percent field goal shooting (17 of 57) while dominating the boards, 53-36.
James Mangahas scored 15 points and Jason Deutchman added 14 for the Bidang Generix.
Max! Bond Super Glue posted its third straight win by beating Junior Powerade, 76-64, in the other game.
Reil Cervates scored 17 points and Junjun Cabatu added 13 to pace the Sumos who tied Cebuana Lhuillier and Cobra Energy Drink in Group B at 3-1.
