Toby's, Prince hold summer netfest

Manila, Philippines - Toby’s Sports, in its continuing effort to support youth tennis, has linked up with Prince to stage the Toby’s-Prince Summer Tennis Festival on May 14-22 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

The event is expected to lure the country’s top juniors and upcoming players who will be vying for 18-under, 16-, 14- and 12-under crowns for boys and girls and the 10-unisex category title.

“The Toby’s-Prince summer tennis festival is our advocacy program in cooperation with the Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) in advancing the development of sports in the grassroots level,” said Toby’s vice president Toby Claudio. He added the Toby’s-Prince netfest is in line with Toby’s commitment to keep the kids busy this summer and at the same time provide them a tournament where they could hone their talent and skills.

Ranking points will be up for grabs in all divisions while a non-ranking tournament for beginners will also be held in the 12- and 16-under groups for boys and girls.

Registration is ongoing with entry forms available at Toby’s Sports outlets, Philta office at Rizal Memorial Sports Complex (523-6415 or fax-525-2016) or log on to www.tobys.com or search for Toby’s Sports on facebook. Fee is pegged at P300 per event with deadline set on May 11 at 5 p.m.

The event, backed by Futures Tennis Foundation, Adidas, Nike, Thermos, Equipe, Fruit Magic, SGM Bikes and Total Fitness, will also feature an invitational team category with a maximum of 10 schools each in the boys and girls divisions.
