New finds show guts, flair in karting
MANILA, Philippines – New recruits Daniel Castaneda, Jon Julian Jr. and Stephen Taylor displayed big potentials as they spearheaded the impressive show for Ready2Race in the second leg of the 2011 Petron Karting Super Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit.
The three proved they’re worthy additions to the team with their determination and aggressive moves to survive the tough challenge in their respective encounters with the support of MyPhone, Tony Kart, AIM Racing Gauges, Sparco, ORG Racing Gear and the Active Group.
Castaneda followed up his impressive debut last month with a bigger feat of upstaging more experienced rivals in clinching the SQ Novice crown while finishing first overall.
He was the day’s biggest revelation as he crawled his way up from fourth place and engaged perennial winner Don Batino in a tight battle before claiming the checkered flag in 11 minutes, 0.598 seconds or a far 2.736 seconds ahead of Batino.
Julian made it a 1-2 finish for Ready2Race in the SQ Novice class while he also copped the runner-up honors in the SQ Veterans class.
Taylor, only nine, showed marked improvement as he captured the runner-up crown in the SQ Cadet class by just a close 0.324 seconds behind Raymond Cudala.
Top guns Juha Turalba and Roby Benito had a tough time against equally competitive rivals as they landed fourth and fifth, respectivedly, in the ROK senior division.
Another new recruit Julius Milla took the fifth place trophy in the SQ expert class.
“It’s inspiring to see these new recruits shine only on their second career race and we’re glad they rose to the occasion despite the big challenge,” said Ready2Race coach Pepon Marave.
