Arnis fest to unfold at SM Megamall

MANILA, Philippines - The National Youth Arnis Festival will be held May 14-15 at SM Megamall activity center with Enersel Forte, one of the new leading supplements for children, as chief backer.

The event features sparring for boys and girls in different age groups, ranging from 10 to 19 years old, as well as “anyo” or forms competition. Also on tap are the solo baston (single stick) and doble baston (two-stick) matches.

In last year’s one-day event, over 130 participants slugged it out in thrilling matches. This year, combatants will battle it out over two days on two mats provided by leading arnis equipment manufacturer Stix.

Enersel has gained major recognition as it sponsored eight-time world champion Manny Pacquiao in his fight against Antonio Margarito last November. The unique vitamin preparation was also a major sponsor of the Lanao del Norte Intenational Motocross Championship last December, the first-ever Philippine motocross race featuring foreign riders.

Organizers have already received inquiries and confirmation from Valenzuela City, Cainta and Taytay, Rizal, Ateneo de Manila University, Rizal Technological University, Philippine Air Force, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Pasig City, Quezon City, Marikina City, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Tarlac province, Bulacan province, Misamis Oriental and Muntinlupa City.

Cacoy Doce Pares, perhaps the largest group of arnis fighters and masters in the country, has also pledged support for the event. The Cebu City Sports Commission and Davao City sports consultant, former Philippine Sports Commission chair Butch Ramirez have also promised their support.

Enersel Forte is the only multivitamin preparation that has virgin coconut oil (VCO) to increase metabolism, vitamin C and lauric acid, which is both antiviral and antibacterial.
