MANILA, Philippines - Lenelyn Milo trounced Aira Mae Putiz, 10-4, in the girl’s 18-under finals then fashioned out a 10-5 victory in their 16-under clash to sweep the two titles in the fifth leg of Smart presents Head Age-Group National Tennis Tour 2011 Junior Satellite Circuit at the Lapaz tennis courts in Iloilo City yesterday.
“At last, I won a leg title and not one but two division crowns,” said the 15-year-old Milo, a native of Island City Garden of Samal.
Jeleardo Amazona ended Paolo Baran’s giant-killing spree as he hacked out a 10-7 victory to capture the boys’ 16-under plum.
Baran earlier shocked four-leg winner Rogelio Estanio in the semis but failed to sustain his charge against Amazona.
Amazona also took the boy’s 14-under crown with a 10-4 win over Rodolfo Barquin while Sarah Adorador defeated Ma. Dominique Ong, 10-8, to cop the girl’s 14 under title in the tournament backed by Chris Sports, Meralco, Maynilad, Head, the official ball and Toalson.
Juan Paolo Cansino also foiled Estanio, 10-7, to pocket the boys’ 18-under title in the tournament sanctioned by the Philippine Tennis Association.
Meanwhile, the sixth leg of the circuit will be held in Bacolod City this week at Noah’s Haven Tennis Courts in Bacolod City.
