MANILA, Philippines - Tuason Racing protégé Basti Escalante guns for honors in the second leg of the 2011 National Karting Super Series today at the Batangas Racing Circuit.
An incoming De La Salle Grade 7 student, Escalante hopes his training under the Tuason Racing School Racing Career Management Program (TRsrcMP) will provide a big boost to his campaign for the Formula SL Novice crown this year with the big support of Tuason Racing School, Castrol, OMP, Oakley, Discovery Suites, Belo Men, Toptul, C! Magazine, and his individual sponsors Audi, Transnational Diversified Group, Werdenberg International Corp., Bridgestone, Puma, Coke Zero, Bank of Commerce, Emcor, KServico, Washington Watches and The Philippine STAR.
Moving up to a higher class, he only finished seventh overall as he was still adjusting his game against the challenge of older and more experienced rivals in the talented field.
But after an evaluation of his performance, Basti felt more confident following renewed instructions from coach and TRS president JP Tuason.
“It was tough going up against more experienced rivals on the very first race of the season. But learning my lapses from my coach, I believe I’ll do better this time,” said Escalante.
The TRS-Racing Career Management Program, patterned after the training program of Formula One drivers, was designed by the brothers’ JP & Mike Tuason who are both multi disciplined racers and champions. It is aimed at helping young racers achieve a successful career path in motorsports.
“Knowing how fast Basti catches up with the lessons, we are confident of his chances in this race,” added JP Tuason
