MANILA, Philippines - Mighty Sports has linked up with Golfmix, a group of former junior golfers who are now golf professionals, as they hold the Summer Junior Golf Camps for kids 5-17 years old at various venues.
The camp is ongoing at the Manila Polo Club in Makati while a separate camp is scheduled at the Citygolf Driving Range on Ortigas, Callaway Indoor Golf in Pasig, Southpoint Driving Range in Alabang, Orchard Golf and Country Club in Cavite and Sun Valley Golf Club in Antipolo after the Holy Week.
The program was conceptualized by Golfmix to develop future golf champions with US-trained Joel Altea and Chris Guerrero and British PGA veteran David Clayton overseeing the camp.
Golfmix and Mighty Sports hope to discover new young talents especially from outside Metro Manila who can later on compete in local junior golf tours and hopefully become national players.
Each camp includes five two-hour driving range sessions, a nine-hole fairway session and an entry to the “Champions of Tomorrow Golf Tournament” on May 29 at the Riviera Sports and Country Club.
One of provincial camps will be held at The Cliffs at Thunderbird Resorts in La Union on May 13-15. It will also be offered in Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro and Baguio. Camp participants will also have the chance to play with their parents through the Parent-Child Golf Tournament on June 12.
