Circuit Showdown draws big field
Manila, Philippines - The Circuit Showdown second round held April 2 at the Clark International Speedway was another success with 68 participants vying in the shootout event and 24 cars for the grid races.
Marc Thomann posted a new lap record for the West Course that day with an astounding time of 1:06:363, followed closely by seasoned driver Carlos Anton (1:06:730).
Other winners were Eggy Ong, Bracket B; Rico Cheng, Bracket C; Christian Sedano, Bracket D; Jonnie Pineda, Bracket E; and Walter Zamora, Bracket F. With the unexpected number of Grid Racers, the races were sorted into brackets giving spectators six exciting races to watch with plenty of dicing and action at every corner.
Grid Race B proved to be the most challenging for competitors, who were served 30 second penalties for breaking out of the allowable lap times during the race itself. When the checkered flag was waved, back-to-back wins were scored in races 3 and 4 by Ferdinand Sia, Grid A; Mark Sy, Grid B; and Mark Peterson, Grid R.
The next round of Circuit Showdown, supported by Rota Wheels, Duro Tires, DKC Tire Center, Speedlab, Dynapack, Richmond Auto Parts, Discovery Suites, Mishimoto, Blox, Recaro, Pitworkz by Hongly, Foil a Car, XYZ Suspension, Z Works Carbon, Runstop Rotors, ECW Performance, Dynamics Suspension, C!
