Castrol champs-of-future race on
Manila, Philippines - The country’s promising future racing superstars plunge into another intense action as the 2011 Castrol Champions of the Future Series stages its second leg today at the Boomland Track at the CCP Complex.
Raymond Cudala seeks another dominating triumph as he goes against 21 other participants in this event organized by Castrol and its partners Tuason Racing School, the Automobile Association Philippines, Alaska, Pena Motorsports, AUTS Racing, Bridgestone, PUMA, OMP, Jaguar, Lifeline, Carmona Race Track, The Philippine Star, 99.5RTfm, Trapik.com, Kzone, Top Gear and Timezone.
A 12-year-old Grade 5 student of Elizabeth Seton School, Cudala clocked the best time of 41.17 seconds to turn back William Casequin and Peeve Madriaga in the kickoff leg. He also ruled the Cadet SQ class of the National Karting Series.
The other strong contenders are 11-year-old Gabriel Tayao Cabrera, 13-year-old Dominique Lao, and Arthur Tuason, a 10-year-old third generation racer from the celebrated Tuason racing clan, who bagged third place in the National Series.
Two newcomers – 12-year-old Brent International student Bryan Joshua Thorp and seven-year-old Jose Luigi Lachica of Colegio de San Agustin – will join KingVin Tan, Ronin Leviste, Arielle Leviste, Galen Yap, Iolo Estanislao, Julian Gabriel Espino, Bien Vicson Madriaga, Hanna Beltran, Flynn Keeling Jackes, Xedrei Daquigan and Matthew Maramba.
“Seeing how intense the action was in the first race, we expect this one to be more exciting,” said Castrol Philippines president Mars Sota.
Registration starts at 8 a.m. before open practice at 9. The pre-final and final races are slated in the afternoon.
The winner will receive a scholarship package to run in the National Karting Series from AAP under the tutelage of multi-awarded race car drivers and champion makers JP & Mike Tuason.
