AC Green graces Jr NBA camp rites
MANILA, Philippines - NBA legend AC Green graces today’s start of Jr NBA Philippines national training camp featuring the top 50 campers from Manila, Cebu, Bacolod, Laguna and the Alaska Power Camp at La Salle Greenhills gym in San Juan.
The field will compete in skills tests in the two-day session with the top campers to be named at the SM Mall of Asia on Monday.
The top 10 Jr. NBA campers will get a chance to watch an NBA game live and play against a counterpart Jr. NBA team in the US.
For the first time, a Jr. NBA coach of the year who will be trained by NBA coaches and sit as assistant coach to the All-Stars will be announced also on Monday.
Aside from Green, US Jr. NBA coach Frank Lopez, NBA Asia director for basketball operations Jama Mahlalela and the Alaska caching staff will grace the event which starts at 10 a.m.
Since its launch in 2007 in the Manila and Cebu, Jr. NBA has expanded its reach to Bacolod and Laguna with over 3,000 kids taking part in the Jr. NBA Phils. program.
