MANILA, Philippines - The fourth edition of the Cebuana Lhuillier Tennis Open will be held April 10-15 at the Baseline Tennis Club courts in Cebu City with the country’s top male tennis players expected to see action.
The tournament features the Open singles with defending champion and veteran Davis Cup player Johnny Arcilla tipped to have his hands full against the likes of second seed Onyok Anasta, former national team player PJ Tierro, Rolando Ruel Jr. and Ronard Joven among others.
Also on tap is the doubles event where Arcilla teamed up with Tierro to win last year’s championship. A pro-am division will also be staged in place of the seniors category.
“This is part of Cebuana Lhuillier’s program to help promote tennis, at the same time provide an opportunity for our top national players to compete in a high caliber tournaments,” said sportsman-businessman Jean Henri Lhuillier.
“We also hope to discover new talents from the countryside as we get entries from the Visayas and Mindanao, aside from Metro manila, for this event,” added Lhuillier, a long time team manager of the RP Davis Cup team.
