Castrol kids deliver for Tuason racing school
MANILA, Philippines - Tuason Racing School reestablished its reputation as the best springboard for potential champion racers as its young new recruits delivered a 1-2-3 finish recently in the kickoff of the National Karting Series at the Carmona Racetrack.
Castrol Champions of the Future products Raymond Cudala, William Casequin and AT Tuason showed big promise as they dominated the top three spots in the Cadet SQ class powered by Castrol and its partners Tuason Racing School, the Automobile Association Philippines, Alaska, Peña Motorsports, AUTS Racing, Bridgestone, Puma, OMP, Jaguar, Lifeline, Carmona Race Track, The Philippine STAR, 99.5RTfm, Trapik.com, Kzone, Top Gear and Timezone.
Cudala, a 12-year-old Grade 5 student of Elizabeth Seton School, posted the best time of 54.634 as he swept the qualifying, pre-final and the 15-lap final race in winning the Cadet crown.
It was a fitting follow-up to his very first win, besting 16 other fellow racing wannabes in the Champions of the Future kickoff race.
Casequin, the nine-year-old son of touring car champion and TRS race car driver Stuart MacDonald, checked in second in all three races while Arthur “AT” Tuason, the third generation of the renowned Tuason racing clan, claimed third place after a fierce showdown in the final race.
After passing Tai Zulberti at the first turn, Tuason made his move to chase Casequin as the two stuck close to each other going into the last meters of the race.
But defensive strategy worked well for Casequin who barely escaped by just 0.172 second over Tuason.
“We’re very happy with their performances that really drew the crowd’s attention. And we expect them to be far more competitive in the coming races,” said TRS president JP Tuason.
