10 NCR finalists join Jr NBA training camp

MANILA, Philippines - Ten youth cagers from Metro Manila and Luzon outplayed 345 other kids in the Manila Regional Selection Camp recently at Xavier Gym to make it as finalists to the Jr. NBA National Training Camp next month.

The National Camp is the high point of the 2011 Jr. NBA Philippines Program presented by Alaska where 10 participants will be chosen at the end of a three-day boot camp at the La Salle Green Hills Gym on April 9-10 and at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall on April 11.

The 10 finalists are Bouyer Airam Aseron and Lorenzo Fernando Navarro, San Sebastian College; Jarrell Lim, Xavier School; Aleck Jon A. Melecio and Alfred Sajulga, De La Salle-Zobel; Chino Manuel Mosqueda, San Beda College; Kobe Lorenzo Paras and Tsaddy John Tabaldo, La Salle Green Hills; Ferdinand Ravena III, Ateneo de Manila; and Justine Oliver Serrano, Malayan High School of Science (Mapua).

They will join Cebu kids: Mhike Spencer Patalinghug, Noel Villaceran and Niño Dave Paon of the University of Visayas; Miguel Competente of the Holy Child School of Davao; Jude Luke Bulan and Arnie Christian Padilla of the University of San Carlos-North; Godard Barbosa and Randell Senining of University of San Jose Recoletos; and Jair Edrei Igna and Dawn Hynric Ochea of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu in the National Training Camp.

Bacolod’s Top 10 meanwhile are Jorine Cercado and Karl Joshua Mana-ay of Ateneo de Iloilo, Janssen Gonzales and Orvie Bautista of Trinity Christian School, Michael Lorenz Balankig of Cebu Eastern College, Jethro Jireh Arroyo of St. John’s Institute, Giovanni Laguyo of University of St. La Salle Integrated School, Ralph Penuela of St. Joseph School-Iloilo, Jerome Clifford Calesterio of Sun Yat Sen High School, Iloilo and John Lorenz Toral of University of Negros Occidental- Recoletos.

The 10 kids from Laguna are John Miguel Sumague of Holy Rosary College, Jared Bacarisa of Lai Verne Academy, Ranjov Dimaranan of University of Perpetual Help-Laguna, Carl Louie Casama, Lance Henrich Villanueva and John Weynard P. Fetesio of Cavite School of St. Mark, Frederick Tungcab, Jr. of Rex Dei, Juan Carlo Garcia of Notre Dame of Greater Manila in Valenzuela, Kim Martin Baello of Mother Ecclasiae School and Jenry Jove Villanueva of Chair of St. Peter School.
