MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Swimming League is holding the second Diliman Prep School Swim Invitational Age Group competition March 27, at 7 a.m., on Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City.
On tap in the meet, held in cooperation with DPS under its president former Sen. Nikki Coseteng, are competitions for six years and under, 7-8, 9-10-11-12, 13-14 and 15-over boys and girls.
The event is open to all clubs, schools and any swimmers. No membership is required.
Over 250 swimmers from clubs and schools from Pasay, Quezon City, Manila, Antipolo, Subic, Batangas, Quezon, Lucena, Laguna and Pampanga are expected to compete in the event hosted by the PSL under founder Susan Papa as part of its grassroots development program.
Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the winners of every event, and trophy to the top three teams with the most number of points.
Awards will also be given to the most outstanding swimmers per age group.
The competition medals will be sponsored by pool maker Manny de Guzman.
“We are happy that in our monthly competitions, swimmers keep on improving their times – in fact 54 were broken last month,” said Papa. “We thank the support of Sen. Coseteng and Atty. Ma. Luz Arzaga-Mendoza.”
