Magnolia stages rapid chess tiff
MANILA, Philippines – The 39th edition of the First Saturday-Magnolia Beverages rapid chess tournament is slated April 2 at the 4/F of Perez Bldg., Doña Soledad St., cor. Australia St., Better Living, Parañaque.
The tournament is open to all untitled and rated players whose club rapid rating does not exceed 1950.
The champion will receive P3,000 plus trophy, the runner-up P2,000 plus trophy, and the third placer P1,000 plus trophy.
Category winners (senior, college, high school, elementary, and female) will receive P500 each plus trophy.
The event is organized by Barangay Don Bosco Chess Club, headed by Dr. Bong Perez, and sponsored by NCFP secretary general and Tagaytay City Mayor Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino, Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Vice Mayor Gus Tambunting, Rep. Roilo Golez, Councilor Benjo Bernabe, Brgy. chairman Jun Virata, Hector Tagaysay of Filway Marketing, Carmelo Mendoza, Boy Francisco, Jun Punzalan, Magnolia Health Drinks, Chowking, Hypermarket, Shakey’s Pizza, Jollibee and Mercury Drug (Russia).
Registration fee is P250 (regular) and P150 (kiddies).
