MANILA, Philippines - The Boracay Pro-Am Ultimate Golf Challenge, featuring some of the top Australian players, fires off today at the Fairways and Bluewater Golf and Country Club.
Rodger Davis, a many-time winner on the European Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia, heads some 50 pro-am players from Down Under vying in the event, according to Fairways and Bluewater vice president for marketing Cita Villanueva.
Davis was also ranked in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings.
Fairways and Bluewater general manager Ian Cameron welcomed the hosting of the international tournament as part of its thrust in promoting the Philippines as a haven for golf and sports tourism in the Asia-Pacific region.
One of Boracay’s premiere lifestyle destinations, the 120-hectare property boasts of a Graham Marsh-designed 18-hole, par 72 golf course, as well as residential units and recreational facilities.
Managed by The Centara Resorts and Hotels group from Thailand, Fairways is well positioned as being the only resort with a golf course and driving range for the golf circuits.
