Dog show slated March 19-20 in Marikina
MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Canine Club, Inc. (PCCI), the premier and pioneering purebreed canine-registering body in the country, will stage its 456th and 457th All-Breed Dog Shows March 19-20 at the PCCI Activity Center in Marikina.
Adjudicating for the events are international all-breed judges John Lewington from Australia, and Imran Husain from Pakistan.
Lewington has been judging for 25 years. He has owned Irish Wolfhounds for 35 years since he was nine years old.
He served as councilor for the South Australian Canine Association and has also been secretary of the Irish Wolfhound Club of South Australia for the past 15 years.
Lewington also gave many Irish Wolfhound breed lectures to trainee judges in Australia. He has judged in the US, UK, New Zealand, Ireland and Canada.
Husain is a member of the board of directors of the W.U.S.V. and president of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Pakistan. He is also a member of the Kennel Club of Pakistan executive committee and the chairman of the Kennel Club of Pakistan show committee until 2008.
He has owned five World Siegers and more than a dozen English champion German Shepherd dogs. He started judging GSD in 1977 and has judged in countries like the US, UK, Serbia, Thailand, Malaysia, and China.
PCCI is the only Philippine member of the Belgium-based world canine organization Federacion Cynologique International, and the Asia Kennel Union based in Tokyo.
