Castrol joins hunt for future champions

MANILA, Philippines - Kids take center stage Sunday when the four-leg Castrol Champions of the Future Series kicks off at the Carmona Racetrack in Cavite.

Seventeen karters aged seven to 13 years who qualified from the previous clinics are seeing action in the event, including Arthur Tuason, William Casequin, KingVin Tan, Ronin Leviste, Arielle Leviste, Galen Yap, Iolo Estanislao, Raymond Cudala, Gabriel Cabrera;

Dominique Lao, Julian Gabriel Espino, Peevee F. Madriaga, Bien Vicson Madriaga, Hanna Beltran, Flynn Keeling Jackes, Xedrei Daquigan and Matthew Maramba.

The 10-year-old Tuason is a third generation racing talent from the Tuason racing clan being the son of multi-titled champion JP Tuason and the grandson of the late legend Arthur Tuason.

Casequin, 9, is the son of touring car champion and TRS race car driver Stuart MacDonald while 12-year-old Cudala is a Grade 5 student of Elizabeth Seton School.

Espino is a nine-year-old grandson of AAP Steward Jun Espino while the 11-year-old Cabrera came from a sports-oriented family.

Also fancied in the event, organized by Castrol, are Beltran, a 10-year-old daughter of journalist Cito Beltran; Batangas Vice-Governor Mark Leviste’s kids Ronin, 11, and Arielle, 10; Peevee and Bien Vicson Madriaga who are sons of racer Ramil Madriaga, and Xedrei Daquigan, the son of underbone rider Dax Daquigan.

The oldest in the group is Dominique Lao, a 13-year-old freshman of Philippine Science High School while the youngest are Galen Yap and Flynn Keeling Jackes who are both seven.

The event is backed by the Tuason Racing School, the Automobile Association Philippines, Alaska, Pena Motorsports, AUTS Racing, Bridgestone, PUMA, OMP, Jaguar, Lifeline, Carmona Race Track, The Philippine STAR, 99.5RTfm, Trapik.com, Kzone, Top Gear and Timezone.
